About the Class  

Students will learn the fundamentals of ballet, jazz, and tap through Broadway caliber choreography.  Exploring the choreography of such shows as A Chorus Line, Hairspray, 42nd Street, and Cats, combinations and class time will focus on increasing students' strength, coordination, knowledge, technique, and audition prep.     

 

 

 

NOTES FROM THE INSTRUCTORS

IF YOU ARE LATE FOR CLASS, PLEASE ENTER THE  STUDIO QUIETLY AND FIND AN AREA TO STRETCH OUT BEFORE JOINING THE CLASS! 

 

Attire: 

  • Hair pulled back

  • Form fitted clothing (jazz/yoga pants, leggings, shorts, leotards, tights, sweats that aren't too baggy)

    • Preferably black 

  • Shoes will differ week to week based in the style that week (which will be announced the previous week).

  • Jazz shoes, ballet shoes, tap shoes, and sneakers are all appropriate footwear.

    • Jazz and ballet shoes are not necessary to purchase if you do not already own them as bare feet are also acceptable.

    • Female dancers in the teen classes may also wear character heels if they own them. 

    •  

  • Instructor will plan on discussing dance call attire and will encourage the students to dress that way for class. 

 

 

Location:

All class meet in Kittery Community Center's  "STATE OF THE ART" Dance Studio.  Please note that Broadway Dance Kids will be held directly after Theatre Bugs in the PDP studio.   

 

Items to bring:

  • Plenty of water! 

  • Shoes 

  • Extra hair elastics, pins, clips, etc.

  • Deodorant
